What are essential ingredients for cocktails?

I am having a cocktail party with a couple friends and i need to know what to buy. What are the most common ingredients used in cocktails, and I don't mean alcohol I mean the non alcoholic ingredients such as lemon and lime juice, 7 up, lemonade, juice etc. What else should i add to the list?

5. o.j., cream ,garnishes(at least for the first few ,after that people don't care too much)(salt sugar strawberries pineapple )pineapple,lemon,lime juices,chocolate&nutmeg to grate,lots and lots of clean ice,lots of glasses of different shapes and sizes,tea towels a couple of shakers,measures and borrow a couple of blenders too.another good idea is to drop all bottle caps into a pot and just put them back on at end of night.enjoy yourself!
